Alan McDougal - Head Coach Coach McDougal was born in Sherman , Texas . He graduated from Sherman High School in 1992 where he was a 3-year varsity letterman for the Bearcats. McDougal went to Baylor University and was a member of the Baylor Baseball team for 2 years. He graduated from Baylor in 1996 with a BA in History and a minor in Math. He has taught Math for his 10 years in education, and currently teaches Algebra I at CHHS. McDougal lives in Hurst with his wife Britt who is a teacher in the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. Alan and Britt were blessed with the addition of Jaxon, who was born in July 2008. This is McDougal's 13 th year in coaching and his fourth as a head coach. His career started at Boswell High School where he helped coach the Pioneers to the 1997 4A State Championship. He then went to Fort Worth Arlington Heights to coach under the legendary Tommy Elliott. In his first year at Heights, the Yellowjackets reached the 2000 State Semi-Finals. Coach McDougal then moved to Commerce where he was the head baseball coach. In his only year at Commerce, he guided the Tigers to a 9-8 record in 2001. Commerce had only one victory in the season prior to McDougal's arrival. He then returned to Arlington Heights where he remained for before coming to CHHS. McDougal served as the varsity assistant and pitching coach. In McDougal's 5 years at Arlington Heights the Yellowjackets compiled a 142-40 record, earning 5 state playoff appearances, a regional quarterfinal, a regional final, and a state semi-final. Coach McDougal came to Colleyville Heritage with great anticipation on guiding Panther Baseball to many successes. In 2006, the Panthers reached levels that school had not seen in its' 10 year history. The Panthers reached the Regional Semi-Finals after series victories over South Grand Prairie , Arlington Martin, and Keller. In 2007 and 2008, the Panthers were eliminated in the Bi-District round of the playoffs. |
